OSSC Assistant Revenue Inspector Syllabus: The Assistant Revenue Inspector syllabus and exam pattern have been released recently. There are 576 Assistant Revenue Inspector post vacancies available under OSSSC. The OSSSC will conduct a computer-based examination to shortlist the candidate for the post.
The selection process will be three-stages:
- Written Examination
- Certificate Verification

1. Written Examination:-
Written Examination is consist of 180 marks and the time duration will be 3 hours. The questions will be MCQ type and there will be negative marking for each wrong/ multiple answer 0.5 will be deducted. The written examination shall be of the 10th standard (HSC Standard).
Arithmetic:-
Number System, Squares and Square Roots, Percentage and Averages, HCF and LCM, Cubes and Cube Roots, Mensuration, Partnership, Profit, Loss and Discount, Ratio and Proportion, Simple Interest and Compound interest, Mass, Mean, Median, and Probability.
General Knowledge:-
Matching Historical events with dates, personalities, and places, Geographical facts with places, States, Countries, and institutions with headquarters, Books and authors, Persons and using scientific facts and discoveries with dates, Current events with places and personalities, and Matching questions of miscellaneous type.
English:-
Reading Comprehension Grammar, Articles Grammar, Prepositions Grammar, Spelling Grammar, Verbs Vocabulary, Synonyms & Antonyms, Idioms, and Phrases Vocabulary
Odia:-
Grammar, Composition [Essay writing on familiar topics (within 250 words), Letter writing (within 150 words), Translation (English to Odia)], Comprehension of an unseen prose passage (Five short questions to be asked).
Computer:-
Word Processing, Spreadsheet Application
(MS Windows: Introduction of Windows, MS Office: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel)
2. Certificate Verification
The 2nd stage is certificate verification. Those candidates who are qualifying for written tests will invite for certificate verification.
