SSC MTS Syllabus: The Staff Selection Commission has released the syllabus and exam pattern recently. There are Multi-tasking Staff (Non-Technical) post vacancies available under SSC. The SSC MTS will conduct the examination in two tiers to shortlist the candidate for the post.

The examination process will be two tiers:-
- Tier- I:- Computer Based Test
- Tier- II:- Descriptive Paper
- PST/ PET only for Havaldar post.

1. SSC MTS Paper-1 Syllabus
The Paper-1 examination is consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice only. The questions will be set in both English & Hindi. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
English language:-
Comprehension, Active/ Passive Voice, Direct/ Indirect Speech, Vocabulary, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, and their correct usage, Phrases, and idioms.
General Intelligence & Reasoning:-
Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization, Problem Solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Figure Classification, Arithmetical Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Arithmetical Computation and Analytical Functions.
Numerical Aptitude:-
Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship Between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Average, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work.
General Awareness:-
Current events and India’s recent economic and social policies, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution and Scientific Research, etc.
2. SSC MTS Paper-2 Syllabus
Paper-2 will be a Descriptive paper in “Pen & Paper” mode. The duration of the paper will be for one hour. The paper will comprise of Writing Essay & Letter etc. The paper will have to be written in Hindi or English.
Paper-2 will be held only for those who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Paper-1 for different categories.

Candidates who cleared stage 1 of the SSC MTS exam and also applied for the Havaldar posts in CBIC & CBN will have to go through the PST & PET.
