SSC CHSL Syllabus: The Staff Selection Commission has released the syllabus and exam pattern recently. There are various DEO, LDC & Other post vacancies available under SSC CHSL. The SSC CHSL will conduct the examination in three tiers to shortlist the candidate for the post.

The examination process will be three tiers:-
- Tier- I:- Computer Based Test
- Tier- II:- Descriptive Paper
- Tier- III:- Skill Test/ Typing Test.

1. SSC CHSL Tier 1 Syllabus
The Tier- I examination is consist of Objective Type, Multiple Choice only. The questions will be set in both English & Hindi. There will be a negative marking of 0.05 marks for each wrong answer.
Spot the Error, Fill in the blanks, Synonyms, Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/ Detecting misspelled words, Idioms & Phrases, One-word substitution, Improvement of sentences, active/ Passive voice of verbs, Conversion into Direct/ Indirect narration, Shuffling of sentence parts, Shuffling of sentences into the passage, Cloze Passages, comprehension Passages
It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal types. Semantic Analogy, Symbolic Operations, Symbolic/ Number Analogy, trends, Figural Analogy, Space Orientation, Semantic Classification, Venn Diagram, Symbolic/ Number Classification, Drawing Inferences, Figural Classification, Punched hole/ Pattern folding & unfolding Semantic Series, Figural pattern folding, and completion, Number series, Embedded figures, Figural Series, critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Emotional Intelligence, Word Building, Social Intelligence, Coding & Decoding, Numerical Operations
Number System, Fundamental, Arithmetical operations, Algebra, Geometry, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Statistical Charts.
History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Policy, Scientific Research, Awards, and honors, books and authors, current events and dates.
2. CHSL Tier 2 Syllabus
The Tier-II paper will be a Descriptive paper of 100 marks in “Pen & Paper” mode. The duration of the paper will be for one hour. The paper will comprise of Writing Essay/ Letter/ Application/ Precis etc. The paper will have to be written in Hindi or English.
3. CHSL Tier 3 Syllabus
The Tier-III paper will be a Skill/ Typing Test of qualifying nature. The final merit of the selected candidates will be based on the basis of the total score obtained in Tier-I & Tier-II.
Skill Test/ Typing Test for Data Entry Operator:-
Skill Test is mandatory for Data Entry Operators. In Skill Test, a candidate should have a data entry speed of 8,000 key Depressions per hour. The duration of the Test is 15 minutes and an English document having about 2000-2200 strokes/ key-depressions is given to type.
Skill Test/ Typing Test for LDC/ JSA and Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:-
The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 9000 key-depressions/ hour would enter the same in the test computer.
